Mississippi Passes E-Cigarette Consumption Tax

According to a report from Law360 on March 28th, the state of Mississippi in the United States will impose a consumption tax on disposable e-cigarettes.

On Wednesday, March 27th, the Mississippi State Senate passed SB 3105 with a vote of 50 to 0.

The bill will now be submitted for consideration by the House of Representatives. Introduced by Republican Senator Daniel Sparks of Belmont on Monday, March 25th, the bill proposes a tax of 17 cents per “heating element” or “disposable” e-cigarette, or 3.4 cents per pack of 20.

Once enacted, the bill will take immediate effect.
