According to a report from Law360 on March 28th, the state of Mississippi in the United States will impose a consumption tax on disposable e-cigarettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Wednesday, March 27th, the Mississippi State Senate passed SB 3105 with a vote of 50 to 0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bill will now be submitted for consideration by the House of Representatives. Introduced by Republican Senator Daniel Sparks of Belmont on Monday, March 25th, the bill proposes a tax of 17 cents per “heating element” or “disposable” e-cigarette, or 3.4 cents per pack of 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once enacted, the bill will take immediate effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
